About LRG Cares Foundation

LRG Cares Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Cobb County, Georgia, dedicated to giving back to the community by supporting homeless women, children, and families. Our mission is to help them move toward stability and independence by restoring dignity through life’s basic essentials.

We operate three core programs:

  • THRIVE Infant Program – providing critical items for families with premature infants.

  • STRIVE Independence Program – empowering women during transitional phases as they move from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

  • REVIVE Placement Program – supporting children in need of placement care.

Over the past two years, our primary focus has been the STRIVE Independence Program, which continues to transform lives by helping women rebuild their independence and confidence as they transition into stable housing.

STRIVE Independence Program

Women Transitioning from Homelessness

The STRIVE Independence Program focuses on empowering women in transitional phases—particularly those moving from homeless shelters to independent housing. Our comprehensive approach provides guidance, resources, and tangible support to foster self-sufficiency. By addressing the unique challenges these women face, STRIVE helps them build confidence, stability, and lasting independence.

📍As part of STRIVE, LRG Cares Foundation proudly supports the Welcome Home Closet in partnership with Atlanta Mission. The Welcome Home Closet provides women and families transitioning from shelter life with the essential household items they need to transform an empty space into a comfortable, livable home.

Each recipient receives a thoughtfully curated Welcome Home Basket filled with brand-new household essentials—including bedding, kitchenware, and bathroom necessities. In addition, recipients may choose one small appliance such as a blender, crockpot, iron, toaster oven, coffee pot, or handheld vacuum—a gift that makes everyday living a little easier.

LRG Cares personally purchases these items, with each basket totaling approximately $350 per recipient, to ensure every woman begins her new journey with dignity and care. To continue providing this level of care and quality, we rely on the generosity of our community.

You can help by making a monetary donation to support the purchase of these items or by selecting items directly from our Amazon or Walmart wish lists. Every contribution helps create a warm welcome and a true sense of home for women beginning their new chapter of independence.

BACK2SCHOOL Nike Shoe Campaign

Stepping Into Confidence for the School Year

Each year, LRG Cares Foundation partners with Atlanta Mission to help children in homeless shelters start the school year with confidence — one new pair of shoes at a time.

Through our Back2School Nike Shoe Campaign, we purchase brand-new Nike sneakers for children living in Atlanta Mission shelters. Over the past two years, we’ve proudly provided more than 100 children with quality shoes that not only meet a need but also remind them that they are seen, valued, and deserving of the very best.

For many of these children, this is their first new pair of shoes — a simple gift that makes a powerful impact, helping them walk into school feeling confident and ready to learn.

Your support makes this possible! You can help us continue this tradition by making a monetary donation or by purchasing a pair of Nike shoes.

Together, we’re doing more than giving shoes — we’re giving hope, pride, and a fresh start for the school year ahead.
